Post 5: Changes to my Study Programme

I think that the programme of my career (Chemistry and Pharmacy) is demanding because you have a lot of different subjects to study and create connections among these topics would result hard if you did not the effort to put in order the information to facilitate the work of your brain. Especially in the first years when you receive very general information and probably you don´t have any idea of when you can use it.

About the workload and length of my career I think it is ok: We can view all the important subjects that a chemist needs to be a good professional and I consider 6 years is a good period to achieve it. I know that in the previous generations (for example 2000´s generation) the workload was harder, but the times were changed and now we have new problems to fight.

The faculty provides us with some grateful spaces to take a break, talk with classmates, and study. Sometimes these areas need renovation or an improvement and to be honest I think the faculty is slow to solve problems. However we can use computers, we have an internet connection, a library and functional materials to learn in the labs and I think it can be better but is ok. In the environment always you can see issues, the world is crazy so I believe that the more important thing is your attitude and motivation to learn.

Following these ideas, the teaching methods can have an improvement in many cases, but I saw the effort of the teachers to provide good material and a good class. Some days when I felt tired and I saw some teachers with a lot of energy I think: "How they can do it? They are awesome!"

The principal change that could be made to this study programme is in the organization about the dates of the important tests, because usually these evaluations are in the worst day.

Post 4: A Time Travel to the Future

Well, I am indecisive in this topic because I would like to see some things about the future and also about the past. In the past lived amazing people and the possibility to meet his selves result exciting for me: Scientists, Politicians, Warriors, Philosophers, etc.

On the one hand, I would like to travel to Ancient Greece in 300 B.C. because it was the place where lived the people that makes the bases or the pillar of the actual human civilization: Some ideas, knowledge, and constructions come from Greece. Result interesting think about how in our initial states as humanity we have much potential to create awesome constructions, theories or more! I think at these moment in history, as humans, we were at the roots if our progress was like a tree.

Obviously, I wouldn´t like to stay in Ancient Greece for a long period because there was a lot of negligence in society. So I prefer to stay here in the present.

And on the other hand, I would like to travel 100 or 200 years into the future to see probably the last leaves or fruits of the tree: What new advances in science or laws are there? Did we solve the environmental problems or find new medical methods to fight diseases such as cancer?

 I would like to stay there if the conditions were good, for example: world peace, better health, new advances or more, but If the human was extinted or the earth was destroyed I wouldn´t like to stay there... Imagine this situation: You go to the future and when you come there all the things are isolated. It would be the last thing you will see in your life if the conditions of life were lost.

 

For these reasons probably I would like to visit Ancient Greece hahaha

 

Post 3: My Dream Job

Well, currently I´m studying chemistry and pharmacy, so I have a lot of options at this moment: Assistance pharmacy, Industrial area, Quality control, Communal pharmacy, etc. Honestly, I think that the Assistance Pharmacy Area is my best option for now. It would be better if it was in a hospital because I want to have contact with the clinical area, obtain more experience and maybe later work on it.

I would need a lot of skills to work in this area. Besides the knowledge of all the chemistry, medicines, generic drugs, and how to prepare some of these products I need to know how to work with other people: Is necessary to cooperate with a medical team to provide good treatment to the patient and it means a safe, efficient, and timely process giving the correct information.

In relation to the salary, if I was living alone it would not be a problem because I don´t require much money to survive in this world (hahaha). If at the end of the month I receive a pay slip I will be satisfied.

I´m thinking of taking a major in pharmaceutical science because if I study more about this area I will acquire new knowledge and improve my abilities to be a better professional.

After some years, if I have a good condition of health I will open an independent pharmacy. There I will be the boss and hire some people if they have a good curriculum vitae and shows interest to obtain in the interview

Post 2: The Best Concert ever

Coldplay, "Estadio Nacional", Chile. 2022

 I went to the concert of Coldplay on September 23th, 2022. It was at Estadio Nacional Chile. I liked it because the atmosphere generated was beautiful and the audience was so excited for the show. So many people weres waiting for this concert and I was part of them. The tickets were sellout faster than in other events and I remember when I went there it was a long line of fans for out the venue. It reached to the bus station throught the street.

Well, the time passed by very quickly and I didn´t realize when I was on my seat. It wasn´t near the barrier, however I could see all the show and I enjoyed it! I felt as if I was on the stage with the band.

At the night when the song "a sky full of stars" started to sound all the audience turned on lights to warm up and cheer the band, it was a magical moment! I will never forget this especially because at the same time an unknown girl took my hand and we sang together. It was one of the moments when you say "oh, I really enjoy to stay alive to witness this".

Post 1: A country I would like to visit

I would like to go to Japan, because their culture and the people who live there seem attractive to me. It´s so different in comparison to occidental culture: constructions, foods, clothes and traditions.

Recently I have a dilemma: In the future I would like to learn a new language just for fun and it can be Chinese or Japanese. But, finally I prefer Japanese because it´s easier. People usually says there are persons that are so friendly and have discipline and respect. I really believe that because they live in a little island so it is necessary to cooperate and be efficient. So if I go to Japan I might learn more about the language and habits of their citizens.

I would like to interact with the people, especially old people who live in rural places because they usually preserve so many traditions. Besides that I would enjoy the spectacular views of this places. But also I would like to visit some cities like Shibuya (Tokio) the place where Hachiko lived or go to one of the many thermal waters ("onsen") that we can find in the country.

Probably I would like to study and live there, because people and culture are so interesting. They are so organizated and efficient, but it´s necessary consider that they live in a little island and there is a build-up of people. Besides the volcanic activity and the probability of tsunamis or earthquakes are strong reasons that discourage me because I enjoy more peaceful and safe places.
